What an extraordinary win by Diaquin at Ballarat on Monday 4 November.
To Translator and all his owners, it’s VRC Derby Day and you’re in the big race!
It was a good day for our greys at Tatura’s Cup Day on Saturday. Both Diaquin (2nd) and Chapoutier (4th) ran excellent races. But it was Sailors Falls who delivered a victory owner/breeder Paul Cochrane and his family, and for the stable.
The strong form of our horses at Sportsbet-Ballarat on the synthetic surface continued on Tuesday when Danbana overcame a wide barrier to lead all the way in the Hygain Winners Choice Handicap.
It was another successful day at Ballarat on Tuesday, again on the synthetic surface, as we walked home (literally) with another winner. Sheet Lighting followed up with two very good performances earlier this campaign, with a solid victory to delight his owners and our stable.
On a beautiful Winter’s day at home track Ballarat, STORMY ELECT won her maiden race in convincing fashion.
Connections of Danbana may no longer have a stayer, but they now have a winner and horse again showing promise.
Thank you to Paul Vettise and the team at Thoroughbred Daily News (ANZ) for their article today. Read their daily edition here.
Hearts were in mouths as Balarente Lad fought hard to hold off the fast-finishing favourite at Sportsbet-Ballarat on Sunday. This gelding is tough and tries hard – a great attribute to have.
The manner and ease of Protection Money’s victory at Ballarat on Sunday was a pleasant surprise for owner/breeder Ross Wilkinson, Nigel and regular track-rider and Foreman Chris who walked him over to his “home track”.
Hearts, minds and eyes were fixed squarely on the Gold sale at Inglis’ Oaklands complex. The result? Four yearlings at prices between $14,000 and $44,000 – sure to suit both the budget conscious and the astute buyer.
We are going to be active at tomorrow’s Inglis Gold yearling sale at Oaklands (VIC). Historically this sale offers buyers at a more budget level, the chance to join us and race for great Victorian prizemoney.
