The filly was purchased from the 2009 Melbourne Premier Sale, by stable client Alan Young. Shamardal has made an impressive start to his career, finishing second in the freshman sires last season. He has also has made an impressive start in Europe with back to back stakes winners. Crest of Gold, was a speed machine in Adelaide, being stakes placed and winning 5 times.
