Early Spring springs new arrivals

Posted on Posted in News

This time each year is always a fun time for trainers, owners and staff. Not only are we heading into the Spring Racing Carnival in Melbourne, but we also start to see more of our young new-season two-year-olds as they progress through their stable orientation programs. Over coming weeks will share share some photos and videos of our young “potential champions” on the training track.

Equally as exciting are the new-season three-year-olds. Nigel and each ownership group manage the early careers of each horse carefully, ensuring they are put under the pressure of a long campaign and race days only when they are ready. So we look forward to several three-year-olds stepping out for the first time in weeks to come.

And of course we cannot forget our older gallopers. Let’s Make Adeal is ready to race on 29 August at Caulfield, most likely in the 1700m Listed Slickpix Stakes (Heatherlie Handicap). Desert Jeuney has become a source of frustration with his antics in the barriers. But in his trials and practice he behaves, so hopefully with a few little changes we can see the best of him on 29 August also, either in the 1400m Open Handicap or the Group 1 Memsie Stakes.

Below is a selection of some of those making their way to the track in weeks to come. (Click to see a slideshow)
