Echuca races, take 2

On Saturday we head up the highway to Echuca with three runners, this time hoping for the meeting to proceed as planned following Monday’s abandoned meeting.

ARTHURIAN (Artie Schiller – Deep In The Woods, 2yo gelding) makes his debut after a couple of nice jump outs at Flemington. He is a half-brother to city winning mare Balaclava Lady, and to TINY’S LEGACY.

Speaking of TINY’S LEGACY, he is going to join his younger half-bro in the truck to Echuca, this time dropping back in grade to a BM78 race after his strong-closing effort at Pakenham (Synthetic) at BM84 level. He might not be the punter’s best friend, we know. But he has talent, winning at city level in the past and is going better than what his form reads on paper.

SHADOW PRINCE is a NZ$22,000 purchase from New Zealand a couple of years ago. He steps up to 1600m for the first time on Saturday, a distance Nigel thinks will suit. He’ll be somewhere near the speed as he jumps cleanly from the barriers, and making his own luck.
