Old mate Tiny

We have to admit that Tiny’s Legacy has been frustrating all of us until his overdue victory at Seymour on Tuesday. It was a welcome reward for his breeder/owner, Ross Wilkinson.

Tiny is a much loved animal and has placed several times over the two years since his last victory. So despite some questions regarding his passion in the closing stages of a race, Ross and Nigel maintained their belief another couple of wins are not beyond him.

Dropping back in grade to BM64 on Tuesday, Tiny found himself in a arguably the weakest race (on paper) he had contested for quite some time. Nigel was keen to see him in this grade despite the high weight.

Ben Allen rode a perfect race on Tiny, making his move at the right time knowing he was probably on the best horse in the race. He had to work cleverly in the final 100m to maintain Tiny’s momentum and concentration. So we hope Tiny can string some good performances together following this win, aided by some confidence, tracks with moisture and the continued love Ross and all of us in the stable have for him.
