A quiet few weeks, but the team is starting to roll

Posted on Posted in News

Even though we again have a full stable of 30 in training, 90% of them are two and three-year-olds and only three have been in race mode in recent weeks.

With such a young team, and my decision to miss the Spring with a few high-potential horses and focus on the Autumn when they are little more mature, we really can’t wait to be active at the races and winning in coming weeks.

This morning, seven horses enjoyed jump outs at Flemington. Here are some video clips of some of those horses, and further below is a quick summary.

After his good win last start, we have struggled to get Sailors Falls back to the races – thwarted first by rain at Geelong and then searing heat at Mornington! So Sailors Falls had a spin on the grass this morning in a jump out, ready for Sandown on Wednesday.

Progressive fillies ChristieShock Shock and Acantha all trialled this morning. All three are work in progress and look like they will appreciate some distance in their races, in due course. I look forward to their debuts at the races in coming weeks.

Arthurian has grown up this preparation. He trialled nicely this morning. He’s now ready to race.

King of Vandals is a 3yo gelding who has taken time to mature, but he is now putting it all together. Provided he comes through this jump out well, he will head to the races for a big group of owners.

And lastly, our 2yo colt by Excelebration (ex Magita) enjoyed a morning out at Flemington for an educational jump out. He still has a lot to learn, but he has presence, strength and a great attitude.
