Naivasha settles, and scores

We have been very fortunate to be the chosen trainer of Naivasha this past year or so. Owner Trevor Delroy and his Wyadup Valley Farm bred, reared and educated this daughter of Starcraft, a close relation to Australian Derby winner Ethiopia.

It was a terrific sight to see her cruise away to a 7Ā length victory at Stony Creek over 2100m at just her third race start.

Naivasha debuted at Sale in February for a fast closing 4th over 1736m. But at her second start she found herself near the lead and failed to finish the race off as expected.

So for her third start, and with the strong opinion that she will relish the extra distance of the 2100m race, Rhys McLeod settled Naivasha at the rear of the field and it proved to benefit her.

Rounding the home corner, Naivasha lengthened stride beautifully rounding the field to hit the front a long way from home. And she simply kept going.

We now pay serious consideration to running her in the ATC Oaks in Sydney on 14th April.
