I was delighted with the effort of Cheviot Beach at Sandown Park on Wednesday. Racing second-up he just missed by a short-head over 1800m.

He has always shown us that can make up into a horse and I must thank the owners for being so patient but judged on the run on Wednesday then I believe that the faith will be rewarded with some nice wins in the future.

Michael Walker allowed him to come through along the inside in the straight and he closed all the way. He is a very genuine horse and even though he is a five-year-old now he still does a few things wrong in his races. if we can solve those little mysteries then I'm sure Cheviot Beach will be getting a gold star on his stable door soon.
