THIS SEASON

2009-10 has been a relatively quiet year, with a young bunch of horses, we are preparing for the future.

We have started to see this come to fruition over the past 3 months, with the debuts of Mayfair Melody, Buzzwin and Cheviot Beach. Mayfair Melody managed a placing in town at her first start, before injuring herself at her second start. Buzzwin, managed to win at his second start and so did Cheviot Beach. These young horses are being backed up by the rapid improvement in Aqua Modern and Solarco, whom have both returned in excellent fashion.

The continual growth of these younger horses is imperative for the the stable, and with the return of Group One performer Littorio, exciting times lay ahead. We also have a lovely bunch of unraced two year olds, whom are taking a little while to develop. We have the first foal of Deep In the Woods, whom was twice stakes placed behind Special Harmony. She also ran second to Elvstroem at Swan Hill at her first start. We have the half brother to Shelbourne Lass, whom seems exceptionally smart.

The other two year olds we have are extremely nice. The three two year olds purchased by Napier Racing are showing exceptional promise. One of them is by leading first season sire Snitzel, they also purchased a Testa Rossa filly and a Refuse to Bend colt, who has trialled well.

We are really excited by what the future holds, at Blackiston Racing, which we hope will begin this week with a few victories, concluding with and Australia Cup win on Saturday.
