It is with great pride today that we announce the retirement of SUAVITO. What a ride it has been for connections, Nigel, and all of us at Blackiston Racing.
With first-up form at Caufield over 1400m and in Group 1 races, there was always a little pressure on Suavito to perform on Saturday in the Group 2 PB Lawrence Stakes.
Both Choice and Tiny’s Legacy will join Suavito at Caulfield on Saturday.
Over the past two weeks, it has become clear that Suavito is fit and in fine condition following two jump outs at Flemington, and ready for a tilt at the Lawrence Stakes this Saturday.
Suavito had her first serious hit out on Friday morning in an 800m jump out at Flemington on the Inside Grass.
Very pleased with all of our horses having a jump out this morning at Flemington.
Suavito has been back in the stable for a couple of weeks, and she looks bright, healthy and strong.
It is the morning of Day 2 of The Championships in Sydney, and Suavito has settled in nicely at Randwick in preparation for today’s Group 1 Coolmore Legacy Stakes (Queen of the Turf Stakes).
Time to roll out the old cliche – “just one race at a time”.
That’s how we see it at Blackiston Racing, with Suavito headed towards Saturday’s Group 1 Australian Cup at Flemington in fine order after a pleasing gallop on the course proper this morning.
