Sauvito’s triumph one for the good guys

Saturday’s C.F. Orr Stakes at Caulfield, the first Group 1 of 2016, was a race of muscle.

All of the star horses were there, bar Winx, who ran and won in Sydney just seconds before the Orr stampede.

Waller, Weir, Godolphin, Murray Baker and Hayes/Dabernig rolled up with glittering horses but it was trainer Nigel Blackiston and jockey Luke Currie, who emerged triumphant.

Both trainer and jockey are most certainly underrated, or at least dwarfed by numbers and that underdog theme extended to their horse, Suavito.
