At the second start of his second preparation, Dreams And Schemes won nicely at Kyneton today.
Donning Ross Wilkinson’s black, white and red colours, he became another in a long line of winners in his family. All have been bred by Ross with his late wife Sandra, and trained by Blackiston Racing with great pleasure.
Dreams And Schemes learned a lot in his first racing preparation. He travelled to four different tracks over five starts
After an extended spell and a nice preparation in work, he trialled exceptionally well leading to his first up run.
Unfortunately that day at Ballarat he was never fully comfortable in blinkers with horses all around him. Nonetheless, he ran well and took improvement from it.
Today he started beautifully, settled in the run and couldn’t be beaten from the 100m mark.
It was a textbook ride from Dean Yendall and I appreciate his efforts and following instructions perfectly.
Having a shadow roll seems to have brought out the best of Dreams And Schemes. It’s pleasing to see a horse work well and home and convert that to good results on the track.
Given the ability he has shown us recently we hope there is more to come.
