Video: Three fillies

Posted on Posted in News, Ownership

It has been great to welcome many of our recently turned two-year-olds into the stable for their orientation programs. All have been wonderfully educated by our partners, and are learning their craft at Flemington.

Here are three of those young horses:

  • ’14 Savabeel / Lightning Spur filly
  • ’14 Sepoy / Demerger (USA) filly
  • ’14 Encosta De Lago / Concluding filly

The Savabeel filly was  purchase from the draft of Waikato Stud, in January of this year. A sister to Group 1 place-getter and Listed winner You’re So Good, she is already displaying some of her big sister’s characteristics.

We are thrilled to welcome the Sepoy filly out of the US mare Demerger to the stable, along with her owner. Beautifully-bred, this filly is an import from the northern hemisphere and therefore a few months behind her fellow two-year-olds. But she will catch up quickly. Shane Patterson has provided her the right education, preparing her for our program.

The Encosta De Lago filly was sold by friends of our stable who bred her, to new clients. Well prepared by the team at Blue Gum Farm, and then educated by Shane Stockdale, this filly has grown and lengthened noticeably since March. She will enjoy just a couple of weeks in the stable before returning to the paddock for a well-earned rest.
