Sneakers kicks, but just misses

Returning to the races yesterday at Cranbourne after a good late Autumn spell and Winter preparation, Sneakers ran a bold race to finish a close second in the BM70 1200m handicap.

She was a little unlucky, having been held up behind the tiring leader rounding the home turn and then being bumped by the eventual third placed horse. No doubt it cost her a margin which was the difference between running second and winning.

Mind you, the winner had a wide run so earned his victory. But we were thrilled with Sneakers’ performance and she will be kept to sprint distances. We hope she can progress through the ratings and grades so we can target some higher quality racesĀ at some point in the Spring.
