The Australian Turf Club has announced significant prizemoney boosts to some of its biggest spring and summer races and a reduction in track fees “after several years of repairing its balance sheet and improving its business model”.
A total of $2.26 million has been added to more than 10 spring and summer feature races. Among those given a prizemoney boost are the Group I Epsom Handicap, Metropolitan Handicap, George Main Stakes, Spring Champion Stakes and Flight Stakes.
The Sydney race club also announced training fees at its three Sydney tracks will be reduced by 10 percent from the start of the new racing season on August 1.
