Strength, a deep girth, good length of hip and a cool attitude to match

We are fortunate and thankful for the support of many of our owners, and some new owners, who have bought into four great yearlings purchased in New Zealand.

Three of those yearlings remain in NZ for another couple of weeks, enjoying a well-earned rest after the yearling preparation and the week at the Karaka sales complex.

But one of those yearlings in now on our shores.

This colt is a brother to the highly talented race filly SHEES FLAWLESS

Before being struck by lightning in the paddock, SHEES FLAWLESS won four of her 11 race starts including her first race start as a two-year-old and the Group 3 Cambridge Breeders’ Stakes at her second to last start.

Just watch a couple of these race replays

1st G3 Cambridge Breeders Stakes (3yo) 25 Apr 2015

1st The Oaks Stud 3yo Premier 28 Mar 2015

This colt’s sire, FULLY FLEDGED, was a talented racehorse himself. He was retired as the G1 NZ Diamond Stakes winner of three races and was also placed four times in his 13-start career. His racing career was prematurely ended by injury during his three-year-old autumn campaign in Sydney. In his last race he ran a gallant fourth from a wide barrier in the G2 Phar Lap Stakes at Rosehill behind Heart Of Dreams and Whobegotyou. He injured his tendon during that race.

He displayed combined pace and class, and has the looks to match his precocious pedigree. He hasn’t had the best support at stud, but this colt was purchased on type and on the strength of his sister.

He is out of a mare by one of Australia’s very best broodmare sires, FASTNET ROCK.

Already, daughters of Fastnet Rock have produced eight stakes-winners at 6.6% of runners. Furthermore, this colt is bred on the NORTHERN DANCER sireline / FASTNET ROCK cross responsible for four stakes-winners (11% of runners) including OMEI SWORD and TIVACI.
