Trainer Nigel Blackiston is confident Let’s Make Adeal can bounce back in Saturday’s Group 3 Bendigo Bank East Malvern MRC Foundation Cup (2000m) at Caulfield.

The Flemington based trainer said he wasn’t concerned by the six-year-old finishing unplaced first-up from a spell in the Listed Heatherlie Handicap (1700m) at Caulfield.

“The race wasn’t run to suit her, she drew a terrible barrier and got a long way back. She ran good sectionals off the turn but was never a winning chance from the barrier,” Blackiston said.

“We haven’t had a lot of luck with her at Caulfield in the past but if she can have a bit of luck and draw a nice barrier for a chance then I think she’ll run well.”

Formerly known as the Naturalism Stakes, the MRC Foundation Cup offers ballot exemption for the winner into the $3 million BMW Caulfield Cup (2400m).
