“That’s racing” is a commonly used term to try to cope with the ups and downs of racehorse training and ownership. But I am not too sure “that’s racing” adequately summarises how Dennis Marks, myself, Susanna and our entire stable are feeling today.

This time each year is always a fun time for trainers, owners and staff. We start to see more of our young new-season two-year-olds as they progress through their stable orientation programs. Our new-season three-year-olds are preparing for their upcoming races, many for the first time. And our proven older gallopers are getting fit and ready to put their stake in for Spring riches.
After a luckless spring, owner Dennis Marks and I purposefully gave Let’s Make Adeal a good break to target two races in Adelaide over their recent May carnival. I have never had her in better condition, and she duly won her first stakes race on Saturday.
THE $300,000 Group 2 Brisbane Cup remains a possible target for Let’s Make Adeal after her dominant win in the Group 3 Mitty’s Centaurea Stakes (2000m) at Morphettville.
