Exciting Amarela

Amarela_20141126Amarela’s debut has been a little while in the making but she certainly is worth the wait, judging by her impressive performance to score at Bendigo.

We have had to be patient with her as she has taken time both physically and mentally but she was very professional today and the way she came from last to first to score cosily certainly fills me with confidence for her future.

Damien Oliver gave her a lovely ride, allowing her to settle and find her feet early and then Amarela did her bit by powering home to score.

We purchased her for $70,000 from the draft of Haunui Stud at last year’s Premier Sale at Karaka and it looks money well spent. She is by a proven sire in Pentire, out of a stakes winning Danehill mare so if we take her quietly and look to test her in better races in the Autumn then her connections can look forward to having a lot of fun with her.

I am not in any hurry with her. She still has plenty of physical improvement to make but the way she won today can only auger well for her future.
