A well deserved win for Suavito

Suavito does not know how to run a bad race and she gained a well deserved first Group race victory in Saturday’s Gr.3 Eliza Park International Stakes with stablemate You’re So Good in third.

Suavito (pictured) had been Group-placed prior to Saturday and she had been good again this preparation without a lot of luck so for her to win a good race like this was very satisfying for me and for her owners.

Damien Oliver gave her a terrific ride and with a strong pace theĀ gaps were there for Suavito to finish strongly and score.

You’re So Good ran a super race for third, only bobbed out of second, and she is returning to the kind of form that has seen her Group 1-placed earlier in her career.

Both mares have their idiosyncracies and need some special love. Credit goes to Gemma Hayward who looks after and rides Suavito and to Dwayne Reid who rides You’re So Good in the morning.
It’s a team effort and after a very tough week for the stable it was great to finish with a feature race win.
