On the move – but just a small one

Posted on Posted in News

We have been making several changes in recent months.

As current owners will have noticed, those changes include utilising the pre-training services of Leneva Park a little more in recent times to build a base level of fitness of each horse before arriving at our Ballarat stable. Leneva Park run a fantastic operation and I have a good relationship with their team based on great collaboration.

With most horses spending a couple of extra weeks in pre-training at Leneva Park, our numbers in work at Ballarat have been reduced to a manageable level for our team. Susanna and I can concentrate more on horse welfare, race plans, performance reviews and owner engagement.

Our next change to implement will maximise stable efficiency, horse health and performance, and the involvement of our owners.

Blackiston Racing will soon relocate to a modern stable facility within the Ballarat Training Complex.

The new stable area is fully enclosed with all boxes, wash bays and horse facilities under the one roof. This will benefit both staff and horses and will result in greater efficiencies. It will help us provide our clients and horses under our care the best possible attention.

It is anticipated that it may take a period of two weeks in late November to transition all aspects of the training operation from the existing stables to our new location.

Photos and further information will be included in our next newsletter. Join our mailing list to stay informed.
