Hearts were in mouths as Balarente Lad fought hard to hold off the fast-finishing favourite at Sportsbet-Ballarat on Sunday. This gelding is tough and tries hard – a great attribute to have.
The manner and ease of Protection Money’s victory at Ballarat on Sunday was a pleasant surprise for owner/breeder Ross Wilkinson, Nigel and regular track-rider and Foreman Chris who walked him over to his “home track”.
