A rocking Dundeel colt comes home with us

Posted on Posted in News, Ownership

At the Inglis Easter Yearling Sale, after days of inspections, we have purchased a striking colt by terrific sire DUNDEEL.

Out of BRECCIA (NZ), a daughter of Fastnet Rock, this colt is a three-quarter-brother to the Group 1 winner and exciting young sire TIVACI.

Physically, this guy stands over ground and looks like he will develop into a miler-type. We will give him time to develop and mature, but it won’t surprise us if he does that quickly this year.

His pedigree page is strong. He is by the right sire and has the right grandsire (High Chaparral). He is out of a proven producer who is by a proven broodmare sire (Fastnet Rock). He hails from a strong black-type family with seven stakes-winners descending from third dam Moon Storm.

Interesting to note that of Dundeel’s 17 stakes-winners, 14 are colts / geldings (more than 8% of runners), including his five Group 1 winners: SUPER SETH, YOURDEEL, CASTELVECCHIO, TRULY GREAT and ATYAAB.

Born and raised at renowned farm Bhima Thoroughbreds (Scone, NSW), this colt was presented beautifully at the Inglis Riverside complex and is clearly well-educated. He has a great attitude and coped with the pressure of the yearling sale.

Thanks to the support of several great clients, we think we have all shares sold in him. But there is a chance a small share becomes available this week (early April), so don’t hesitate to jump onto our waiting list by emailing racing@blackistonracing.com.au.
