Time to roll out the old cliche – “just one race at a time”.
That’s how we see it at Blackiston Racing, with Suavito headed towards Saturday’s Group 1 Australian Cup at Flemington in fine order after a pleasing gallop on the course proper this morning.
After a terrific Spring campaign, Exclusive Lass returned to the races today in fine order, and fine form. Her close second at Flemington suggests she is in for a great Autumn campaign.
At this week’s Inglis Premier Yearling sale, we were fortunate to purchase a quality colt by one of the world’s truly outstanding sires, DANSILI.
Pleased to confirm that all is well with Suavito following her victory in the G1 Orr Stakes. Watch her recovery session with Nigel’s comments.
Please listen to Nigel’s chat with Michael Felgate on RSN’s Racing Ahead program this morning.
Suavito is the toughest horse I have ever had anything to do with. Ever. In winning the Orr Stakes, her second Group 1 victory, Suavito increased her earnings to more than $1.2m in prize money for a syndicate of loyal owners led by Ian Lewis.
Managing Owner of Suavito joined Adam Olszanski on RSN’s The Thoroughbred program, on Sunday morning.

We are delighted to have two runners at Caulfield this Saturday. Suavito returns to the track after a ten month layoff, in the Group One CF Orr Stakes. We also welcome back Amarela, a stakes-placed mare who we think is set for an exciting Autumn campaign. Listen to Nigel’s chat with Michael Felgate on RSN’s […]
An enthusiastic group of owners, my team and I enjoyed another fantastic week in New Zealand for the NZ Bloodstock Yearling Sales at Karaka, near Auckland. We were thrilled to come home with two purchases, plus a filly to lease.
In ten starts before December 1st, Nigel and the owners of Ferro Nero were both frustrated and overwhelmingly amazed that horse nicknamed “Basil” was still a maiden. But with two wins in December, he is now putting it all together.
