Later this month, Blackiston Racing will relocate to a more modern stable facility within the Ballarat Training Complex. It will help us provide our clients and horses under our care the best possible attention and a manageable workload.
In line with many other high profile trainers, we have introduced the use of Arioneo’s Equimetre into our daily training routine. I hope all horses benefit from this addition to our training approach.
Ideal Miss continues to improve with age and experience. She now had added ‘versatility’ to her CV after winning over 2600m at Cranbourne on Friday. Her third win for the preparation and her career, and arguably her best.
There was plenty to like about the win of Think I’m Famous at Ballarat on Thursday. The manner of her win at just her fourth race start, coming from near last, was pleasing enough. The family she hails from made it even more rewarding.

Now physically and mentally mature, Ideal Miss is capable of racing regularly over what Nigel thinks is her optimal distance, 1800-22oom. She backed up her maiden victory with another win this campaign, this time at Ballarat on August 19th.
We feel privileged to have been training a few horses for the Brendan and Jo Lindsay’s Cambridge Stud Racing team over the past few seasons. We can now add Passione to that list of winners following her city win at Caulfield.
